Masego latest single ‘Passport’ takes Quarantiners on a music journey
If it wasn’t enough for Masego to drop a single out of nowhere, he also followed it up by releasing the accompanied music video the next day.
Masego’s latest single, Passport, is his latest drop as he hints toward a new album. Quarantine has done wonders for Masego, giving him more creativity while giving his avid followers a new side to his music.
He’s always been an artist who strives to never conform to ‘mainstream’ music. His individuality stems from his production and instrumental skills, fluent on the saxophone using the influences of rap, r&B, and hip-hop to create his own genre Traphouse Jazz.
Passport is something different that we haven’t seen in his music lately. Using the measures of his imagination and expanding life skills in quarantine, he paints a world outside of quarantine. Using influences of other languages, cultures, and beyond to allow his listeners to take this worldwide journey with him.
“And I dont wanna think about
Where we’d be if we stayed
That same route everyday
Ship yard every day”
And it doesn’t hurt that he spits in Japanese as well.
It’s something completely divergent from his music and most importantly exclaims his love for the craft. Neither bending or conforming he doesn’t hesitate to keep his music enticing for all his listeners alike to bump along too.
