Mario Drops New Project ‘Closer To Mars’ EP
If you’ve been ‘crying out’ for some Mario, he’s back with new music!
You’re familiar with Mario’s R&B classics such as “Let Me Love You”, “Crying Out For Me”, and “How Could You”, now the sultry singer is back with his 7th project, Closer To Mars. With almost 20 years under his belt in the industry, the release of his new music is sure to bring back those memorable jams.
The five track EP was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing Mario to polish and perfect those feel good sounds. The lead single off his project, “Pretty Mouth Magick” was released with a very sexual video that deliver R&B flames to the sexy lyrics. In an interview with Revolt TV, he discusses meaning behind the EP, and his creative process throughout the years.
“I’m excited about this project, but I’m more excited about the journey that I’m on right now as an artist. I recently found out that the name “Mario” actually means Mars in Latin and this current time period that we’re in is the closest our planet has been to Mars in over 20 years, so it just amazes me as to how my intentions match the times we are in. I’ve always used metaphors and creative phrases in my lyrical expression. Now I’m beginning to dive deeper into the cinematic and directorial part of my expression. ``

Before the release of his EP, Mario dropped singles back in May such as “Closer” and “Rewrite It” while independent. His new EP delivers that R&B soul feeling while still presenting those feel-good indie hues.
His lyrics depict a pure love emotions reflecting that bedroom love for all the lovers out there. His single “Mars”, tells the strong bond between lovers who only need each other in this world as they explore on the way to Mars.
``With you by my side, we can cause some disruption
All up in the sky, we go high like it's nothin'
Sure to cause an eruption while I'm going deep in
Now that you're open to explore, baby, I got you (Ooh)``
The Baltimore native has brought back that old R&B love to the new mix of today’s sound to life. Each song on the project encourages a different vibe, and is filled with sensuality that melt with his soft vocals. We can’t wait to hear more from Mario in the next few years, but for now we can enjoy Closer To Mars. Streaming now on all platforms! Check out the track-list below.
